Political ideology
Capitalism in the Anthropocene explores the impact of political ideology on democracy and social reform. In a Parliamentary democracy, leaders are elected through voting. However, this system often leads to a focus on charismatic leaders and the game of winning elections, Dwarfing the realm of struggle. As a result, direct actions like Strikes are seen as detrimental to one's image. There is a belief that policies for the future should be left to professionals, which can lead to a decrease in citizen participation in decision-making processes. Top-down reforms based on political ideology may seem efficient, but they narrow the realm of democracy and undermine the Subjective consciousness of participants, namely the citizens. It is important to recognize that Parliamentary politics alone cannot expand the realm of democracy and reform society as a whole.
